My image of complete darkness after life

---

I was going to finish this, but I realized this image has been done before.. I came over Francis Bacon artwork and freezed when I saw one of his after life portraits. [link]

I dont know if you feel the same, but his painting really fit to my idea of creating this image. scary

hope you like it.

edit: added more reflections on the glass from the helmet.. man. this must be one of the most advanced things ive drawed.

thanks.. yeah i played with the style of the realist Zorn, to make your eyes focus on the main thing. especially here, because there isnt supposed to be anything else there

I like the expression and colours a lot. They completely capture the mood in this painting. Very well done. The title is a good choice, too.

I probably didn't mean that.

...oh wow
you pulled this off brilliantly, to be honest I thought not much could be done with the theme, hah wrong :D
It's really really beautiful and fits the tone of the song perfectly
The astronaut representing (I guess) aspirations and hopefulness and innocence, so his death seems so tragic and cruel.
Your character here appearing so angelic and innocent goes with this quite well to me.
(I hope I haven't missed the point completely :p )
There are so many memento mori photos out there I'm quite surprised there aren't more paintings related to the subject, it's hasn't been touched upon very much considering how powerful it can be as a subject in art (like here)
And yours is much more interesting, I think.
His seems a little more about the emptyness and ghastliness, but yours seems more about the stuff I babbled on about above, and is much more beautiful and effective.
